John E. Pivach

John Pivach joined the firm in 2013 as an associate where his practice focuses on both litigation and transactional matters.  Since joining the firm, John has recovered millions of dollars for his clients and served as lead counsel for several business acquisitions with a total transaction value in excess of $60 million.  John is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts.

Representative Matters

• Represented clients in a wide variety of matters including personal injury litigation; commercial litigation; maritime transactions and litigation, including ship mortgages, vessel arrests and foreclosures; estate planning, including wills, trusts, successions and estate administration; and business entity formation.
• Represented both sellers and purchasers in multiple business acquisitions throughout the Southeastern United States including the acquisition of a chain of gas stations and convenience stores; the acquisition of a fuel and lubricant wholesale business; the acquisition of a restaurant and bar; the acquisition of a truck stop casino and video poker business; the acquisition of a steel product manufacturing and wholesale business; the acquisition of a produce farming and wholesale business; and the acquisition of a medical home health care business.
• Represented multiple landowners in complex BP claims.

Professional and Civic Involvement

John is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association, and Plaquemines Bar Association.  John has volunteered for several Louisiana non-profit organizations, including the Habitat for Humanity, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for Breast Cancer Awareness and the Greater New Orleans Muscular Dystrophy Association.
